Tish (15) - Sunday 5 May
This documentary film is about working class photographer Tish Murtha. Tish dedicated her life to documenting the impact of Thatcherism in the North East of England, an area which suffered much poverty from the closing down of factories and mines. There are many parallels to North Devon, which has suffered a similiar loss of industry, through the fall of ship building and fishing. The film not only highlights the impact of such loss to these areas but also the struggle of a photographer who fails to make a living through telling these important stories, unable to escape the poverty and inequality she exposed.
In collaboration with The Burton at Bideford Stars: Maxine Peake, Shin-Fei Chen, Ella Murtha Director: Paul Sng Showing at Kingsley School on: Sunday 5 May at 6.00pm doors open 5.30pm |
